FAQ’s
When can I start?
We recommend new dancers join in week 1 or 2 of any four-week block to build a solid foundation. Weeks 3 and 4 introduce more complex moves but remain accessible to quick learners. Experienced dancers are welcome to jump in at any point.
What should I expect?
Beginners cover foundational timing and footwork, then partner sequences. Each lesson includes social practice time. Higher levels may include Rueda de Casino.
What is Rueda de Casino?
A Cuban round dance led by a caller, where couples perform moves in unison and switch partners. Fast, social, and fun.
Do I need a partner?
No. We rotate pairs throughout class for an inclusive, social vibe. You can bring your own partner if you like but we encourage you to also change partners as it aids learning. If ultimately you decide to dance exclusively together you can. It is only during Rueda de Casino that switching partners essential.
What should I wear?
Comfortable attire and everyday street shoes are fine. Smooth-soled dance shoes are welcome but can be slippery; grippy trainers can hinder turns. Bring water. The hall is climate-controlled.
Where do I park?
Free parking is available in the lot opposite the hall on Little Myers Street. Enter via the big red doors on Little Myers Street from 6:20 pm.
