Calling all Junior Mythologists and their Families!

Are your children passionate about learning and exploring mythology?

We’d be thrilled to invite your junior mythologist(s) to The Greek Mythology Camp in Crete: Enter the Labyrinth in October 2025, an immersive experience in Crete designed for young Greek mythology fans aged 8-13.

This 5-day immersive program is designed for families like yours—blending interactive storytelling, hands-on crafts, and cultural experiences in the island of Crete, the heart of Greek mythology.

Date: Sunday, October 19 - Friday, October 30, 2025

Duration: 5 nights

Ideal age: 8-13 years old

DAY 1: Welcome to the hotel and dive into the Birth of the Gods workshop through interactive storytelling.

DAY 2: Visit the Greek Mythology Thematic Park, engage in a gourd painting workshop, and discover myths through art.

DAY 3: Explore Melidoni Cave, learn about honey and the myth of Aristaeus, and participate in a Cretan cooking experience.

DAY 4: Hike to the Cave of Zeus, perform mythological stories, experience shepherd life, and enjoy a myth-acting workshop inspired by Hyacinthus, the Cretan God of love.

DAY 5: Craft Icarus-inspired wings, celebrate at Agia Galini, and conclude with stargazing and music under the Cretan sky.

DAY 6 (Optional): Relax at Ambelos or explore the Palace of Knossos and the Heraklion Archaeological Museum.

Jonny Walker is a fascinating storyteller, writer of mythical books, and teacher who brings myths to life through engaging performances, creative workshops, and interactive discussions. Jonny has taught over 2,000 kids about Greek mythology worldwide and is the ‘Star Educator’ on Outschool - check out his profile here.

Dr. Maria Hnaraki, an expert in Greek culture and mythology, is a professor of anthropology & ethnomusicology and an accomplished scholar and author. Dr Hnaraki has extensively researched Greek mythology and Greek cultural identity and founded a study abroad program in Crete for Drexel University, PA. Her ideal classroom is one with no walls!

The camp will take place at Ambelos Apartments and Studios, a 25-minute drive from Heraklion Airport, Crete. There are daily excursions to nearby places for both children and adults.

Starting from $995 (approx. EUR935) per person. It includes 5 nights of accommodation with breakfast, meals, transfers, and all education activities from Day 1-5.
