Experience this mesmerising music cabaret show from SA, which honours the legacy of the legendary Goddess of Piano and High Priestess of Soul, Nina Simone.
South Australia’s own Bonnie Lee Galea in her Jazz in Cheek Quartet, pay homage to the exceptional, one and only Nina Simone, taking the audience on a journey through the musical genius’s life and music that blended jazz, gospel, blues, folk, pop and classical.
Performing unique renditions of famous compositions as they provide a glimpse into her remarkable life and those timeless melodies, from uplifting tunes to soulful classics such as ‘Feeling Good’, 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood', 'Sinnerman’, 'Four Women’, and her most famous hit we all remember, ‘My Baby Just Cares for Me’. Transporting audiences back in time, singing along with the band on memorable tunes like ‘Little Liza Jane’ ‘Sea Line Woman’ and ‘Do I Move You’.
Nina’s music influenced many great legends including David Bowie, Aretha, Jeff Buckley, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, and Michael Buble to name just a few. This show is upbeat and poignant, with stories betwixt her timeless songs leaving you ‘Feelin’ Good’.
* Dinner: If you would like to order a dinner and show package, please select your tickets first, and you will then be given a choice of delicious meal options at the timeslot that suits you. Dinners will be provided by Divine Dining and held at the Gawler Civic Centre, before the show commences at 8.00pm. There are two dinner sitting times available for selection at either 6.30pm or 7.00pm.
Please note that the cutoff date for ordering meals is Monday 15 September, 9.00am.
