Silverscreeners Filmmakers Club

The Silver Screen Filmmakers Club is a five-session course this fall where members will learn to shoot short documentary films on their phones, edit them, and share their work. Taught by award-winning writer/filmmaker Jessica Renslow, the class also covers a brief history of filmmaking and explores online platforms for showcasing films. Sessions will be held Mondays, October 6–November 3, 2025 from 3:30pm-5:30pm, at the Miller Beach Arts and Creative District in Gary, Indiana, with a community Short Film Showcase on Saturday, November 24.

The program is open to 12 participants, with preference given to ages 65 and over, and is funded by the Indiana Arts Commission’s Lifelong Arts Initiative.
