Sublimatio: From Problems to Archetypes

At times we feel overwhelmed by intense emotions, recurring patterns, or a sense of being stuck without understanding why. In Jungian psychology, the alchemical process of sublimatio offers a way of stepping back—rising above immediate difficulties to view them through a broader, symbolic lens.

In this evening gathering, we will listen together to reflections on sublimatio from the This Jungian Life podcast and explore what this concept means in our own lives. Drawing on Jung’s alchemical insights, we’ll consider how psychological growth often requires allowing experiences to “heat up” without becoming consumed by them—transforming raw problems into meaningful archetypal patterns.

Through guided conversation led by Dr. Rosemarie Piani and shared reflection, participants will be invited to explore how sublimatio can support clarity, perspective, and emotional resilience during times of inner intensity.

No prior knowledge of Jungian psychology is required—only a willingness to listen, reflect, and engage in thoughtful dialogue.
