Poetry Open Mic featuring Lorraine Gane

Over the last twenty-five years Lorraine Gane has explored the place where the ordinary world meets the extraordinary in poems about the forests and other wild places of Salt Spring Island where she’s lived for many years (The Blue Halo, The Way the Light Enters) and in writing about the illness and loss of loved ones (Even the Slightest Touch Thunders on My Skin, Arc of Light). Her most recent chapbook, If I Have Known Beauty: Elegies for Phyllis Webb, was a co-winner of the 2023 Gwendolyn MacEwen Award and a finalist for the 2024 National Magazine Awards. She is completing another poetry book, among other projects.
