Aerial Dance Improvisation on Fabric Slings (Beginner, Adult)
This course offers a playful, exploratory approach to aerial dance using low-hanging fabric slings. Through a balance of technical instruction and improvisational practice, students will develop embodied awareness, creativity, and confidence moving both on the floor and in the air.
Classes move fluidly between foundational aerial skills and improvisational prompts designed to access the body’s innate intelligence through curiosity, experimentation, and play. Technical instruction emphasizes safe progressions, healthy alignment, and strength-building, while improvisational work supports greater flow, ease, and expressive freedom—encouraging each student’s unique movement style to emerge.
Over the six-week series, we’ll explore basic aerial sequences on the fabric slings, swinging and spinning, and the dynamic interplay between floor-based and aerial movement. As the course progresses, classes shift from a focus on individual exploration to working with partners or groups, often drawing on principles from contact dance improvisation.
This class is open to adults with a range of movement backgrounds and strength levels. The improvisational nature of the class allows for students to progress at their own pace. No prior aerial experience or particular level of fitness is required—just a willingness to explore, play, and engage with the process.

Aerial Silks (Adults, Multiple levels)
These aerial silks classes invite you to play, challenge yourself, and build strength while developing aerial artistry in the fabric. Through clear instruction and safe progressions, students develop coordination, aerial awareness, and confidence as they learn to move with intention in the air.
Beginner classes focus on establishing comfort and strong foundational skills in climbing, inverting, foot locks, wraps and drops. As students advance, classes move toward longer sequences, greater endurance, and more nuanced movement quality, refining transitions, flow, and clarity in the air.
Each class includes a thorough warm-up, level-appropriate conditioning, and time to integrate skills within a supportive and encouraging environment.

Note: For beginners to aerials, the Fabric Slings course is more accessible for students who are still working on building upper body and core strength and puts greater focus on dance and improvisation skills alongside building aerial skills. The Silks courses incorporate dance as well, but there is a greater focus on aerial technique and strength.
