Beach Cleanup with Turtle Island Restoration Network

This event is FREE! We will do a beach cleanup, then lunch and then play!

We are partnering with Turtle Island Restoration Network to teach our kids about taking care of our beaches and oceans! This field trip is following the science lesson on pollution at Agape Co'op, and will help teach our kids the importance of being good stewards to the earth.
TIRN will give a quick presentation on marine debris, plastic pollution, and sea turtles. Then we will walk the beaches to collect trash. After trash collection we will discuss and weigh all of the trash, conduct a Nurdle Patrol and do a microplastics experiment!
Once we are done with the beach cleanup (around noon), we will play at the beach! Play in the sand and waves and bring a packed lunch! We will meet at pocket park beach #2.
