This meeting will feature a tour of Hope Center's Food Distribution facility, and updates from Second Harvest, Catholic Community Center and other South Lafourche food distribution sites about new, expanded or modified operations.
We will also hear from Becky Gautreaux, LSU AgCenter Nutrition & Community Health Agent, as she presents opportunities to strengthen our local food systems through policy, system and environmental improvements that make the healthy choice the easy choice, including potential grant funding support through the LSU AgCenter.
During the meeting, we will set aside time for South Lafourche food distribution sites and food bank leaders to ask questions of, seek assistance from or offer help to one another, with the goal of strengthening partnerships and supporting our shared mission to address food insecurity.
