This is it! The LAST ONE FOR 2025! If you have missed all the others, fear not… we have saved the best for last! For those of you who are learning of this for the first time, this is the most exciting Saturday morning breakfast in Tennessee! Our local pilots of EAA Chapter 1343 cook a huge breakfast spread and serve it inside our hangar. This is where folks can come join pilots from the area who also fly in for breakfast and you can be there up close to see them land and take off and check out a bunch of cool aircraft. If that’s not awesome enough, we also host a car show that’s open to anyone that has a cool car to bring and show off. If you do, then you’ll get VIP access to the flight line where you can park your car for the event and be right there at the breakfast!
There is no charge to come and hang out with us. If you’re hungry, we have one of the biggest breakfast spreads anywhere… biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, and…. Mrs. Shirley’s FAMOUS Hash Brown Casserole. If you’d like to eat breakfast, we ask for a donation of just $7 and kids eat free! However, if you’re able to round up, we would certainly appreciate that. We want this breakfast to be accessible and affordable for everyone, but with increased costs, things are definitely tighter than years past. But our town is full of generous folks who are behind our mission, so this is why we will continue to keep the cost down as low as it is. All proceeds go to our local EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) Chapter that helps promote aviation in our community and for youth scholarships. So, THANK YOU in advance for all your support!
This month we are honored to welcome back the soldiers of the 1-230th Assault Helicopter Battalion. They fly the UH-60 Blackhawks and the UH-72 Lakotas. Last time they brought two helicopters, which was awesome! So, we asked, “How can we do better than that”? After much deliberation, we concluded that the only way would be to have FOUR helicopters! So, that’s the plan… FOUR Blackhawk UH-60’s from the 1-230th! We will also be welcoming some friends from SUN-N-FUN in Lakeland, FL (the 2nd largest Aviation Expo in the WORLD) to share about their event in the spring. So, bring the whole family and come out to meet good friends and the brave heroes that help keep our community and country safe!
If you’d like to bring your car for the car show, simply pull up to the main gate and the Civil Air Patrol cadets will direct you to the best parking spot in town. Please note that our car show is becoming very popular, so come early, as it’s possible that we may hit capacity this year!
Final details… we start at 8AM (insider tip…. come early) and will go until we run out of food or until 10AM, whichever comes first. So, if you know someone that likes Bacon, Airplanes and Cars, do us a favor and share this event with them. If they don’t have Facebook, send them a postcard in the mail today. It keeps our local EAA Chapter strong, which helps keep General Aviation at Gallatin strong, and provides opportunities for everyone to enjoy aviation and inspire the next generation of aviators!
