Join The Flock for a Walk at Ring Park
📍 Meeting Point: Parking at the Elks Lodge, 2424 NW 23rd Boulevard
⏱ Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours
🌿 Trail Conditions: Easy, shaded, about 1 mile of trails through forest along Hogtown Creek
What to Expect:
We’ll explore Ring Park’s scenic trails as they wind through upland mixed forest and slope forest, tracing the course of Hogtown Creek. A highlight of the walk is the overlook where clear water from Glen Springs meets the tannic water of Hogtown Creek. Along the way, we’ll watch for woodland birds and other urban wildlife.
Ring Park also features a playground, picnic pavilion, and plenty of quiet spots to rest, making it a lovely community green space.
👉 After the walk, those who are interested are welcome to join us for lunch nearby!
What to Bring:
• Bug spray
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Binoculars
Come enjoy a peaceful morning of birding and exploring this hidden gem in the heart of Gainesville!
