Shenandoah Landscape Gouache Workshop

Join scientific and narrative illustrator Nick Garnhart to learn the fundamentals and nuances of painting landscapes with gouache. Gouache is a water-based paint that can be used with thin layers, similar to watercolor, or opaquely for a bold flat graphic style. Students will use photos of beautiful Shenandoah naturescapes, to sketch their landscape and with step by step guidance from Nick, learn various techniques for painting with gouache. By the end of the three sessions, students will not only have a finished landscape piece but new knowledge and skills to continue the practice at home. Suitable for all skill levels and all materials are included.
