Join the Mammoth Mending Day!

Drop in whenever you want between 10am and 4pm, come and go or stay the whole day.

How many items can Frome mend in one day? We're going to aim for 100+ items! Yes!

Find your piles of broken clothes - from holey jumpers to a torn shirt - and bring them along to fix them in the lovely company of everyone else getting through their mending pile - an ultra satisfying day saving clothes from the bin.

People from the Everyone Needs Pockets Textile Network will be there fixing their own clothes. We can all help each other, sharing advice and skills and inspiration. Patch in a way you'd never imagined, visible and invisible.

Are you struggling to mend your clothes yourself? Maybe your eyesight or hands make it hard? No problem, come along and we will do our best to help. In the questions in the ticket link, let us know your needs.

Nothing to mend? Come and mend for a friend/neighbour. Or help someone else on the day.

If you would like specific advice or support with mending, it's best to book into the dedicated small group session as part of our day from 11amd to 1pm - - led by Jill Philips.

Information:

• We have a repair kit with needles, threads and patches, and you're welocme to use it, or bring your own stuff
• We will have a couple of sewing machines to share
• Bring a cushion with you if you can - more comfy through the day!
• Tea, coffee, hot drinks and snacks through the day
• We welcome donations to support the future of Everyone Needs Pockets (cash or card)
• Some songs from Nicola too
• This event is aimed at aged 12yrs+ as there aren't activities aimed at children.
• Frome Town Hall is fully accessible (via a lift) for wheeled users.

Everyone Needs Pockets is a mycelium of people and projects reimagining a responsible, inclusive and sustainable clothing and textile industry. We are weaving together a new neighbourhood-scale clothing and textile culture to nurture and restore the health of our community and the planet. Everyone Needs Pockets is a growing network of 200+ makers, designers, stitchers, knitters, sustainable fashion fans and researchers based in Frome.
