Beginner Class, Week 13
Woolly Worm. The Woolly Worm is a versatile streamer pattern that mimics a variety of aquatic life, such as small worms, caterpillars, or immature insects. Its simple construction, usually made with chenille and hackle, gives it a lifelike, wiggling action that attracts fish with its natural movement. The fly is particularly effective in murky or high-water conditions where its vibrant colors stand out. It should be fished with a steady retrieve or swung through current seams, making it ideal for trout and other predatory fish looking for easy prey.
