Intermediate Class, Week 4
CDC Golden Stone. The CDC Golden Stone is a nymph pattern that imitates the immature aquatic stage of the golden stonefly, a nutrient-rich prey item favored by trout. Tied with CDC for subtle movement and natural texture, the pattern mimics the crawling behavior of real stonefly nymphs. Its lifelike profile and mottled coloration help it blend in while still drawing attention in clear or slightly stained water. It should be fished near the streambed using a dead drift, especially in riffles, pocket water, and near rocky bottoms where stonefly nymphs are commonly found.
