Join Southern Maine Agency on Aging’s annual event, Charting the Future! This year’s theme is Shining a Light on Social Connection and is inspired by our strategic plan and North Star goal of finding a source of social connection for all older adults in the state of Maine by 2035.
The event will be focused on education, community, building partnerships, and finding new ways, together, to reach our vision.
We’ll hear from a panel of experts including Marpheen Chann of Khmer Maine, Heidi Lester and Izzy Ostrowski from Equality Maine, Dr. John Newby, a caregiver and physician, and Renee L Pepin, PHD, Assistant Professor of Community and Family Medicine at Dartmouth College.
There will also be an announcement of SMAA awardees who have made major impacts over the past year, a delicious boxed lunch, and SMAA staff and volunteers will provide plenty of fun and engaging opportunities to connect with like-minded members of our caring community. Come prepared to learn about and engage in social connection!
Doors and registration open at 10:30 AM, so be sure to come early if you want extra time to connect with new and old friends!
