To become a Sauna Aufguss Master, you must have a good understanding of SaunaGus (aufguss), the role of a Sauna Master and you must be able to perform a Modern Classic Aufguss.

At Just Sauna, the process of becoming a good Sauna Aufguss Master is divided into 3 phases, where the first step is to participate in a Sauna Aufguss Master Base Course.
1. Sauna Aufguss master apprentice (basic course)
2. Sauna Aufguss Master (Gusmester)
3. Sauna specialist

What will you learn on the Sauna Aufguss Master Base Course?
You will receive a participation diploma for completing this educational day.
You will gain an understanding of techniques and traditions within Saunagus.
You will be able to perform a SaunaGus (aufugss) with an understanding of:
1. Theoretical knowledge:
Understanding the sauna culture and SaunaGus, the health benefits and thermal understanding and the doctrine of the body's physiological response.
2. Technical skills:
You will learn about the different essential oils and their properties as well as the use of oils (both in water and ice) and knowledge about ventilation when using a towel.
3. Practical training:
You will practice the correct dosage and use of essential oils, classic towel swings, how music can support your intention in your sessions, so you can create a safe and enjoyable session for your guests.
4. Safety:
You will learn how to handle if a guest becomes uncomfortable, so you know what to do.
What to bring:
Please come 10-15 min. ahead of time to find the place and land and bring the following:
- a small towel to wipe sweat off (cloth size)
- 1-2 larger towels to swing (we also sell professional swing towels on site)
- 2 large towels to sit on inside the sauna
- Swimsuit/swimwear
- water bottle
- flip flops
- comfortable clothes to be able to be outside and inside
- it can be nice to bring a sauna hat and bathrobe
- a notepad and pen to write notes
Meet your teacher: Ulla Jerslund
- Ulla is the founder of JUST SAUNA
- More than 5 years of experience as a Sauna Master with experience from both Denmark and abroad.
- Has taken courses from several of the world's best Sauna Masters in classic towel techniques, show techniques, thermal understanding, ritual aufguss, herbal sessions, banya, extended oil understanding and more.
- Danish Champion in Team Show Sauna Aufguss 2024 and represents Denmark at the World Championship.
- trained teacher from the Project Academy
- Level 2 in breathing techniques
