Creative Journaling is a personal development tool that combines writing, drawing, and collage techniques within a notebook or journal. The goal is to unleash your intuition and creativity and rediscover the joy of writing, drawing, and cutting/collage. The Creative Journaling method focuses on the process, not the result. No artistic talent is required to use the method.
What to expect from the workshop?
Through the three main techniques of Creative Journaling, this workshop aims to help you discover and observe your felt sense by exploring different mediums in the journal (colouring pencils, pastels, images, etc.). You will be invited to explore these ideas through writing, drawing, and collage.
Required materials: You may bring a medium-sized journal of your choice (preferably blank pages). Other materials will be provided (magazines, glue sticks, scissors, various pencils, etc.).
Date: Sunday September 28
Time: 1-3 PM
Facilitator Information: My name is Mélissa Frenette. I am a registered social worker, also graduated with a Master's degree in Social Work in 2024, and finally, certified in Creative Journaling in June 2023. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, cooking, camping, spending time with family or friends, and hiking in nature or in the mountains. I have been offering workshops on intuitive writing and collage since 2021, with a range of audiences (university students, teens, preteens, and adults) and themes that have varied according to demand. Furthermore, I have been keeping creative journals myself since I was 14 years old!
