Walking the Wabanaki Way: Cultivating a Path to Understanding

The Fredericton Region Museum is happy to invite you to the first presentation in this season’s Speaker Series, Walking the Wabanaki Way: Cultivating a Path to Understanding, which will take place on Thursday, September 18 at 7:00 pm at the Fredericton Region Museum, 571 Queen Street.

In this thought-provoking lecture, Wolastoqey archaeologist, curator, and cultural knowledge keeper Ramona Nicholas will explore the deep connections between Wabanaki culture, history, and ways of knowing. Drawing on nearly three decades of experience in archaeology, museum work, and cultural practice, she will share how ancestral teachings, ceremonies, and traditional knowledge provide guidance for living in balance with creation. From her work curating the Wabanaki Way exhibit at the Fredericton Region Museum to her role as a community teacher and ceremonial guide, Ramona emphasizes the importance of cultural sustainability and ensuring that future generations carry forward the values and wisdom passed down since time immemorial.
