Summary: The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

Audition Requirements:
All auditioners are asked to prepare your best 32 bars of a song selection in the style of the show. Songs from the show are welcomed but are not required for the audition. Please bring your sheet music clearly marked for the accompanist. If you are singing a song from the show, you will need to provide sheet music for your audition.
Auditioners 15 years and younger are required to sing “Alone in the Universe” from the show -measures 45 - 80.

Rehearsal Schedule:
Rehearsals will be held Sundays at 2:00 PM and Mondays and Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
When auditioning please make sure to include all conflicts you have with the rehearsal schedule. Tech week will be May 31 - June 3. Show dates are June 5, 6, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21. These dates are all mandatory.
