The Frankfort Community Public Library announces the opening of their first art show geared toward tweens and teens. The exhibit, titled “Fright Gallery,” will feature the horror icon artwork of Shawn Chambers and will be on display October 1‒November 1 in the Garald & Toni Gill Gallery on the Library’s lower level.
Chambers, the beloved head custodian at Blue Ridge Elementary School, is well known for his horror and pop culture art using various mediums. This exhibit will give students and families the opportunity to experience his artistic side. “Fright Gallery” will feature art that is both creepy and family friendly.
The artist’s reception will be on Tuesday, October 14 from 6–7:30 p.m. in Harry’s Down Under. Come to hear Chambers share his passion for the horror icon genre as well as discuss his art. The reception is free and open to all ages. Registration is not required, and refreshments will be available.
Prior to the reception, there will be a special program for tweens and teens titled “Creature Feature Creation” from 4:30–6 p.m. Participants will sew their own horror icon. This program is free and open to grades 6–12. Registration is not required.
