Bird and Tree walk Frankfort Cemetery

We will meet at the historic chapel. From the entrance at East Main and Glenn’s Creek Rd, follow the yellow line on the road 0.3 of a mile towards the Daniel Boone gravesite, and the chapel will be on the right. Please do not park on the grass! Frankfort Audubon board member Rob will lead the bird walk, and we will walk along the bluff overlooking the Kentucky River toward Daniel Boone’s grave. We will see resident birds and hope for early migrant warblers!

Please leave pets at home. Bring binoculars if you have them, or we will have a few loaner pairs. The view from the cemetery is outstanding, so bring your camera, too. Wear sturdy shoes, and bring water and bug spray

Board member, Scott Hankla, has documented over 400 individual trees there. The City of Frankfort has the distinction of having more State Champion Trees than any other municipality in Kentucky – five in the Frankfort Cemetery.
