Join the Kentucky Heritage Council, Frankfort’s Capital City Museum, and the City of Frankfort for this fun and educational Kentucky Archaeology Month event. We’ll be hosting Archaeology in Action at Cove Springs Park from 2-4pm on Sunday, September 14th. This event caters to students from 3rd – 5th grade, but all are welcome.
Archaeology In Action provides an opportunity for children between third and sixth grade to learn more about the practice and science of archaeology, by working through artifact documentation and inquiry. During this activity, children will work within units in a grid-system to learn the significance of looking at artifacts within the context of the site in its entirety. This event was generated by the Kentucky Heritage Council and the Kentucky Historical Society and is brought to you by partnership among the City of Frankfort Planning and Development staff, Architectural Review Board, Capital City Museum, and the Kentucky Heritage Council.
Event is at capacity, not accepting further registrations.
