Johannes BRAHMS String Sextet No. 2 in G and Richard STRAUSS Sextet from ‘Capriccio’

Brahms's G Major Sextet stands as a pinnacle of his chamber music output, universally admired for its emotional depth, haunting mysterious beauty and an unrivaled rich string sonority. The work is tinged with a bittersweet tone, partly inspired by Brahms' failed romance with Agathe von Siebold, whose name is encoded in the first movement with the notes A­G-A-H-E.

The North Country Chamber Players have adopted a “Pay-What-You-Wish” ticket pricing for concerts. Seating is limited, so attendees are asked to make free online reservations.
