Hear ye! Hear ye! Attend these words, and then attend the Griffin & Rose Tourney XXIX
In April A.S. LVII, His Excellency, Frithuric Ullman, Barone of Carolingia, suggested a monthly tournament where worthies could prove themselves in the art of honorable action, and improve themselves in a contest of mettle. Here entrants would engage on two axis: prowess and chivalry.
Thus began a tradition of monthly Heavy-List tournaments sponsored by Their Excellencies Carolingia, and held (typically) in the SECOND week of each month.
However, this month it will be the THIRD week. We normally conduct the tournament in Carolingia, on Wednesday night, in Framingham.
This will be the Twenty-ninth monthly Griffin and Rose tournament.
If you would participate, then on August 20 bring your kit and credentials (proof of authorization---if you have one) and also your Honor, Courtesy, and Competitive Spirit.

DETAILS:
If you have equipment and experience enough to participate safely, you may enter this tournament.
On the day of the event, plan to
- check into the list (with auth card and waiver),
- sign the book kept of Griffin and Rose events,
- have your kit inspected by a marshal, and
- engage your opponents with intensity and utmost courtesy.
The Barone/Baroness and Marshal determine the format on the day of the tournament, based on the number of combatants. Typically we typically choose one of these:
- double elimination (for multiples of 8),
- round robin (for smaller numbers not divisible by 8), or
- Atlantian Speed Tourney (for larger numbers not divisible by 8).
Check your kit, make your preparations, and join us for this month's Griffin and Rose tournament. We look forward to seeing you there.
