About our Guest Speakers
Martina Calvi is a Sydney-based mixed media artist, author, and digital creator known for her vibrant, nostalgic, and joyfully chaotic aesthetic. A sentimental girly, she’s built a community around her playful scrapbooking and journaling style. Her work celebrates the beauty of everyday life and encourages a return to tangible, offline creativity. Martina has collaborated with major brands like Adobe, Nike, and Snapchat, and her distinctive art has caught the eye of celebrities including SZA and Halsey. She is the author of The Art of Memory Collecting and the upcoming A Year of Junk Journaling, and continues to inspire through her Substack newsletter Martina’s Secret Diary .
Jessie Short is the founder of Stash World, a Brisbane-based stationery and sticker store that's become a creative hub for journalers, scrapbookers, and paper lovers. With a background in marketing, tech, and design - and a lifelong obsession with paper - Jessie brings together her love of indie art, slow craft, and community connection. She’s been making stickers since 2017, starting at her home computer desk and growing into an in-house sticker production studio, collaborating with local creatives. Through Stash World, Jessie curates a playful mix of sustainably sourced vintage treasures, locally handmade goodies, and original Stash designs. Jessie also hosts regular workshops, meetups, and crafty events that encourage people to rediscover the simple joy that can come from a notebook and glue stick.
