ABOUT OUR HOST: The Pool: A Near Southside Arts Space
For this special breakfast we will be meeting at The Pool, the Near Southside's own arts and culture home base. Our gallery will have a very special exhibition by local arts educator and advocate Natalia Margarita Domínguez and her organization - Creative Muse Arting, LLC.
In the spring of 2022, sister non-profit organizations Near Southside, Inc. and Near Southside Arts, opened a 2,400 square foot Near Southside community art space called The Pool. Designed to showcase and support 'the pool of talent' found right here in our community, The Pool is located at 1801 8th Avenue at the ground floor of the Everly Plaza residential building. A unique partnership between Everly Plaza property owners, Saigebrook Development and O-SDA Industries, and Near Southside Arts has made this gallery possible.
During the breakfast, The Pool will host a month-long residency organized and implemented by Natalia Margarita - the brains and heart behind Creative Muse Arting, LLC. This residency will focus on the experiences and works of local Latina visual artists, highlighting the depth, complexity, and cultural perspectives they bring to contemporary art. Through diverse mediums and personal narratives, and their art entrepreneurship journeys the residency centers their voices, creative practices, and contributions to the artistic landscape of Fort Worth.
