Session 1: 10:00 –11:30 am | Parenting After the Death of a Child
Session 2: 1:00 – 2:30 pm | Community Support After the Death of a Child
Wesley Hall
When a child dies, and the natural order of how we feel life and death should happen is turned upside down, the grief that follows is both intimately personal and also communal. There is not a single relationship that is not touched by grief and this is why it is so important to find authentic and productive ways to care for ourselves and care for one another.
Join A Memory Grows, FUMC Fort Worth’s Children’s Ministries, and Steady in Hope for a two-part community event centered around the grief felt after the death of a child.
Session 1 is for parents who have had a child die and are the parents or caretakers of other living children. This session will focus on caring for yourself and supporting your children in their grief.
Session 2 is open to any community member who has been affected by the death of a child or would like to learn more about supporting grieving families and children. This includes grandparents, extended family, friends, teachers, coaches, and anyone seeking support for themselves and their community through times of immense grief.
FUMC Fort Worth is providing free childcare for each session. If you need childcare for this event, please include the names and ages of your children as well as any allergies or important information in the form below.
