Pete Hegseth, Secretary of War (formerly Defense), is speaking at the fourth annual Northeast Indiana Defense Summit at PFW on Nov. 12. U.S. Sen. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) will also speak.
Indivisible Northeast Indiana, Generation Action and Every Campus A Refuge are combining efforts to show our disapproval of Sec. Hegseth's actions, including:
‒ banning books at the Naval Academy,
‒ removing DEI practices from his department,
‒ bombing boats and killing more than 70 without a declaration of war by Congress,
‒ advancing Pentagon propaganda by forcing journalists to consent to reporting only “authorized” news.
This collaborative effort by the sponsoring groups says, “ENOUGH ALREADY!”
RSVP is encouraged because several details need to be finalized; we will email the final details to those who sign up:

The meet-up location is the entrance/exit of Parking Garage #1, adjacent to the Helmke Library. Please assemble initially at this location. Parking is available in lots 4 & 5 just south of Parking Garage #1. We will be rallying on the east side of the Helmke Library.
A core principle behind all Indivisible Northeast Indiana events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
