Napoleonic War Garrison

An 1814 Napoleonic French Garrison will occupy the Old Fort this Saturday. This event aims to recreate the life of a soldier during the desperate final chapters of Napoleon’s empire. Set one month before the 1814 Siege of Bergen-Op-Zoom, fresh conscripts will spend the day in military drills in preparation to repulse a larger and more experienced British force.

Come talk with the soldiers. Observe daily life in a military post. Spend time exploring the grounds and buildings of the Old Fort.

Admission is free: donations appreciated.
