Make Music. Make Friends. Make Some Noise.
Find your rhythm, feel the groove, and make music together! This upbeat, four-session class invites adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to explore rhythm, teamwork, and creativity in a fun, supportive space. Each session brings a fresh theme and hands-on time with boomwhackers, percussion, and Orff instruments — no experience is needed, just your love of sound and community!
Details:
Class size is limited to 10 participants, each with a required parent or support staff. Please share any accommodation needs during registration — Sweetwater and the instructor will provide all reasonable accommodations. (One-on-one support must be supplied by the participant’s own support person.) Registration closes 48 hours before class begins.
Program Goals:
- Learn to keep the beat and jam as a group.
- Build confidence through sound and self-expression.
- Connect with friends in a welcoming, inclusive space.
- Team up with your support staff or caregiver for shared music-making moments.
- Enjoy a welcoming and inclusive community accessible to individuals who may otherwise lack music opportunities.
