IIMA Sector Chiefs Understanding AI Risks

Welcome to the IIMA Sector Chiefs AI and Cybersecurity event! As it has been our tradition, the northeast Indiana information technology organizations have gathered in October for the joint meeting. Infragard Indiana Member Alliance (IIMA), REF CIO Forum, the Indiana Chapter of Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), IT Leaders, BSidesFW, and others will convene on October 9, 2025, at Indiana Tech, in the Snyder Academic Center Multiflex for an engaging morning discussing threats associated with Artificial Intelligence.

We have an exciting agenda awaiting you. Doors open at 9 AM. Coffee and pastries will greet you as we move quickly to a 9:15 welcome. Our first speaker is Andrew Howard, Cybersecurity and AI Governance – Asureti.

Info: Andrew Howard is a cybersecurity and GRC leader with over 25 years of experience advising global enterprises on data protection and regulatory compliance. He has supported compliance across FISMA, FedRAMP, CMMC, NIST, ISO, HIPAA, and CCPA/CPRA, and in AI Governance, guiding organizations through the risks of emerging technologies. Andrew holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Information Systems, an MBA in Global Management, and certifications including CISSP, CMMC-CCP, CECFE, and 3CI. He also serves in law enforcement, bringing a unique perspective that unites cybersecurity, compliance, and public safety — always with a focus on Protecting People.

Info: Brandyn Fisher is a cybersecurity leader with extensive experience in virtual CISO


(vCISO) services, penetration testing, and information security management. Currently serving as Senior Manager at Centric Consulting LLC, Brandyn drives business growth


for the vCISO service line, leads strategic initiatives, and manages multiple client


engagements across diverse industries. Brandyn holds a Master’s in Information Security and Assurance from Western Governors University and a Bachelor’s in Computer Security & Investigation from Indiana Tech. Brandyn is a regular contributor to various online forums, a frequent presenter on cybersecurity topics, and an adjunct professor at SNHU.

Host: Michael Alford, Supervisory Special Agent-Cyber FBI Indy

Info: Michael Alford is a Supervisory Special Agent with the FBI's Indianapolis Field Office, where he plays a key role in cyber investigations and national security efforts. With a background in digital media and digital forensics from the University of Central Florida, Alford has served in various capacities within the Bureau since 2007. He has been publicly recognized for his work on high-profile cases, including threats against public officials, and has spoken on critical issues such as election security and cyber threats. His leadership and technical expertise continue to support the FBI’s mission to protect the public and uphold the rule of law in Indiana and beyond.

Tour of Indiana Tech’s Cybersecurity program

Info: Following our formal presentations, guests will have the opportunity to tour the award-winning cybersecurity program at Indiana Tech. In 2025, the Indiana Tech Cyber Warriors competed for the 20th time at the Indiana State Finals for the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. With 11 consecutive Indiana CCDC State titles for the Indiana Tech Warriors and 18 overall titles, the CCDC team extends its “Decade of Dominance.”
