Kentucky’s Black Stone Cherry employ a fiery and uncompromising mixture of rootsy hard rock and post-grunge/heavy metal. The band’s 2003 self-released Rock N’ Roll Tape caught the attention of their first major record label, which signed them after witnessing the overwhelmingly positive audience reaction to BSC’s high energy touring. Black Stone Cherry showcases a flare for relentless attack on tracks like “White Trash Millionaire” and “Killing Floor,” while dipping into swaggering honky tonk blues on singles like “Let Me See You Shake.” Their most recent work explodes with urgently emotive pop-rock hooks; heartfelt, redemptive lyrics; headbanging riffs; powerful dynamics; thunderous drums; and its most thrilling musicianship yet.
