🎶🕊️ In Loving Memory of Phyllis June Merritt 🕊️🎶
It is with both sorrow and deep gratitude that we remember the life and legacy of Phyllis June Merritt, a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Fort Walton Beach, who entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, August 3rd, 2025 at the age of 86.
Phyllis has now joined the Heavenly Choir, where her love of music continues in glory. 🎼💜 Her incredible gifts as an educator, conductor, and servant of Christ touched countless lives — from the classrooms and concert halls of Florida and Tennessee to the choir lofts of churches and national landmarks across the country.

As we gather in the sanctuary she loved, we will lift our voices in thanksgiving for her extraordinary life of music, ministry, and mentorship.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to the Music Ministry of First Presbyterian Church, the ministry that Phyllis so deeply cherished. 🎶🙏🏼
We give thanks to God for Phyllis — a remarkable woman of faith, music, and service. She will be missed, but never forgotten. 💐
