In observation of the 83rd Anniversary of the Bombing of Rabaul by B-24s and P-38s of the "Forgotten Fifth" securing the operational objective of OPERATION CARTWHEEL - the invasion of Bougainville. The raid was a paradigm shift in airminded thought that challenged the concept that carrier based forces could not challenge land-base air forces.
