About the event

Fall Guided Hikes at Echo Valley Provincial Park
Experience the beauty of the Qu'Appelle Valley in the fall with this annual Fall Guided Hikes event at Echo Valley Provincial Park.

Join our Park Interpreters on three different trails, make a fall decoration, play games and more. All hikes and activities will begin at the Hole in Wall Campground.

Each hike is offered several times throughout the day. Visit the welcome tent to plan your itinerary, as spaces are limited on each hike.

Agenda

11 a.m. - 2 p.m. - BBQ Fundraiser presented by Amphibious Response Support Unit 1 ($$)
Fuel up for a day of hiking with this food and drink fundraiser. ARSU1 will be on site, providing information and demonstrations about water safety and cold water rescue.

11 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Fall Craft Station
Get ready for fall with our exciting craft activities for all ages. Make your own apple-scented play-dough and a beautiful yarn-wrapped pumpkin to decorate for fall!

11 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Lawn Games
Challenge friends or family to a game or two of ring toss, connect four and more!

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 - 4 p.m. - Living With the Land Hike
Connect with nature by engaging your senses and taking in breathtaking views of the Qu'Appelle Valley, and learn more about its cultural significance. Hike to a lookout point, learn from an Indigenous Life Speaker and make bannock over a fire before heading back on the trail. There are two offerings of this two-hour-long guided hike.

11 a.m. - 12 p.m., 1 - 2 p.m. and 3 - 4 p.m. - Fall into Hiking Hike
Witness breathtaking views of the valley as the trees show off their colours, spot a variety of plants and animals and learn about how the valley was formed through glaciation. Don't forget your camera! There are three offerings of this one-hour-long guided hike.

11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., 12:45- 1:30 p.m. and 2 - 2:45 p.m. - Wildlife Wander
Explore the base of the hillside along Pasqua Lake on this leisurely stroll with no elevation. Discover the wildlife that makes Echo Valley their home. This is a great option for strollers and other mobility aids! There are three offerings of this forty-five-minute-long guided stroll.

This event is free with a valid Park Entry Permit.
