Explorations in Art Workshop with the Creative Process of Georgia O'Keeffe

Immerse yourself in a day of artistic discovery inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s timeless vision of “filling a space in a beautiful way.” Guided by artist Anna Koster—who learned O’Keeffe’s principles firsthand—you’ll explore the techniques and philosophies that shaped O’Keeffe’s work, then experiment with applying them to your own creative process.

Whether you’re seeking fresh ideas, a deeper understanding of composition, or simply the spark to see your art in a new light, this workshop offers the tools and inspiration to transform your vision.

Cost: FREE!

• Sketching materials: graphite pencils (or sticks) in graduated degrees of hardness (I suggest HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B), sketch pad, and any other drawing or sketching materials you prefer
• Scissors and glue stick
• Your favorite painting medium (acrylic, pastel, watercolor, oil, gouache, etc., even collage) and all related supplies, such as brushes, palette, thinner, rags and cleaner for brushes; canvas, board, or other surface to paint on; and anything else you will need.
• If you are just beginning and do not own paint supplies, I suggest buying acrylics (red, blue, yellow, and white; or purchasing a set); paint brushes, in at least 3 sizes (medium to medium-large); and a pad of 9x12-inch, 140-pound watercolor paper.
• Bring three landscape photos that appeal to you. These can be pages from a calendar or magazine, poster, even a book. If you have no others you can use a photo on your phone.

Supplies will be provided for a few exploratory activities. Participants will then use their own supplies to create a final artwork.
