The Super Hero Within: A Halloween Event for Families with Kids Ages 4-12

Have you or your child ever been overcome by a "SCARY" state of mind like fear, anger or jealousy and wondered where it came from? These "monster minds" seem to arise out of nowhere and we become unrecognizable to our selves and those around us. Come and explore how to recognize, pacify, and eventually abandon these "spooky" states of mind for good through meditation and the wise advice found in Buddha's teachings. We will learn how to become a real super hero with the power to liberate our selves and others from unkind thoughts and behavior.

This event will begin at Heruka KMC on Halloween (Fri, Oct 31) at 5:30pm. We'll gather for a meditation and short lesson, followed by pumpkin decorating and a pizza party.

On Saturday, Nov. 1, we'll have a morning of family fun, beginning at 10am which will include meditation, games, activities and more.

Please come in costume both days - either an original costume or store bought, as a super hero, or you may choose to dress up as your worst delusion (state of mind), your favorite Buddha/Deity, or just wear a mask. Creativity is encouraged!
