Executive Producers, Lid Dixon and Ross Thompson, collaborated with KRFC 88.9 FM on the release of the record. Lid Dixon explains, “Ross and I were talking about how we wished there were more holiday songs from local artists, and decided to do something about it.” Justin Clapp, Executive Director, KRFC 88.9 FM, adds, “When Ross and Dixon brought the idea to KRFC – we immediately loved it! It aligns with KRFC’s vision. We can’t wait for our DJs to introduce it to the community.” Ross Thompson says, “It’s been such a rewarding experience for me. We are so lucky to have such a collaborative group of talented musicians. Honestly, the hardest part was deciding who would be on the first, of what we hope to be many, holiday records featuring local artists.”
The record was produced by Taylor Tesler (Ansel and the Brain Tattoos, West Side Joe and the Men of Soul) and recorded at Honey Thief Studios in Loveland, Colorado. “This project has been so much fun. The essence of the Fort Collins community really shined through with everyone’s eagerness and willingness to make this happen. You can feel that light-hearted, vibrant NoCo energy in each recording,” says Taylor Tesler.
The record was engineered by Matthew Kennedy and Dan Perez. “We are thrilled to be a part of this project and have the opportunity to work with some of Northern Colorado’s most talented performers. We can’t wait for everyone to hear what we captured,” says Matthew Kennedy, co-founder of Honey Thief Studios. Dan Perez also mixed and mastered the songs and he adds, “I’ve worked on projects like this in the past and I have to say this group musicians has been one of the most fun to work with – I love their ideas and willingness to collaborate.”
The house band includes John Magnie, Steve Amedee, Mike Finders, and Taylor Tesler, with guest appearances by Ansel Foxley and Pete Wall.
