Join the Floyd Center for the Arts Fiber Team as we begin a new year of making together. All are welcome — whether you spin, weave, stitch, felt, crochet, knit, or are simply curious to learn!
We’ll talk through upcoming plans for classes, workshops, the art market, weaving camp, the fall fiber exhibition, and other events ahead. This is a chance to share ideas and help shape the fiber program for the year.
Our 2026 theme is The Year of the Button. We’ll explore traditional Dorset buttons, learn basic construction, and discuss creative ways to incorporate them into fiber work — including ornaments for the 2026 Festival of Trees at Winterfest. We’ll do a short beginner introduction during the meeting, so no experience is needed.
We’ll also begin early planning for the October Fiber Arts Exhibition featuring needlework, felting, weaving, spinning, and more. If you’ve been thinking about creating a piece to share, now is the time to start!
