We're ringing in 2026 with one of our favorite traditions: The Annual Dean Holcomb Poker Run & Chili Cookoff! Get ready for sailing fun, friendly competition, great food, and laughs with your BFSC friends!
When: Wednesday, January 1, 2026 11 am - 4 pm
Where: Branch House Tavern Parking Lot, 5466 McEver Rd, Flowery Branch
Poker Run Details
Skipper meeting will be held at The Branch House around 11 am. We'll gather, get instructions and details, and you'll pick up your first card. On the lake, you'll get one card at each designated mark. You'll return to Branch House to see how your hand compares to the other hands collected. Best hand wins bragging rights! 😀🏆
No boat? No problem! Go to the Crew/Skipper Board and add your name to the list! Crew assignments will occur at the Skipper's meeting.
Chili Cook Off Details
Bring your best chili to the Branch House. Drop off your chili at the Skipper's meeting. We'll have a team standing by to watch over the chili while you're racing. Awards and bragging rights are on the line! And you don’t have to participate in the Poker Run or enter a dish to join us! We need people to enter their chili, help set up and clean up, and partake in rating and judging. Note: there’s a nominal $5 fee if you aren’t entering a chili.
