Thembi Palmer Presents: “This Book May Make You Try Things!”
Saturday, November 29th
11:00 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.
Join author Thembi Palmer for the debut of her newest book, This Book May Make You Try Things!, an interactive, sensory-rich storytelling experience that invites children to explore food, culture, and curiosity through rhythm, play, and imagination.
In this lively program, the story comes to life as children sing, rhyme, taste (pretend!), and move their way through hands-on adventures inspired by the five senses—touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound. From silly food rhymes and kitchen sound games to playful challenges like “Pass the Cabbage,” “Egg & Spoon Races,” and “Soup-Relay,” young participants discover the joy of trying new things in a fun, non-pressured way.
Along the journey, they’ll uncover fascinating food facts from around the world—from okra and dragon fruit to horned melon and artichokes—while celebrating curiosity, courage, and creativity.
Blending literacy, science, and social learning into one deliciously engaging storytelling experience, This Book May Make You Try Things! encourages every child to say, “I might just try that!”
