Build your own set of intricately carved ceramic coasters and tiles!



In this workshop, pottery artist Karen Eckberg with Owl Arts LLC will provide you with step-by-step instructions to explore the pottery technique of sgraffito, which is the art of scratching through the surface layer of clay to reveal the base layer. You will build four coasters using basic pottery tools, scratching into the surface a design of your choosing. A clear gloss glaze will be applied.



Pieces will be taken off site to undergo the firing process. Stacey will pick them up a month later and let guests know when they can be picked up at the studio to go home with you. You can choose to have felt applied to the back to be used as a coaster, or plain to be used as a tile.



This class will be 2.5 hours long. We will spin our prize wheel to kick off the start and guests must be present to win.
