This fall, Communities First, Inc. (CFI), the Greater Flint Health Coalition (GFHC), and the Flint & Genesee County Continuum of Care (CoC) will be cohosting a Housing and Homelessness Convening, working to talk and plan together how to truly end homelessness in Genesee County.
Location: Former Baker College Technical Building (1110 W. Bristol Rd. Flint, MI 48507)
Tuesday, October 14th, 2025 from 9:30am-3pm.
At this event, the keynote speaker will be Gregg Colburn, an associate professor of real estate at the University of Washington’s College of Built Environments. He is the author of a nationally renowned book, Homelessness is a Housing Problem: How Structural Forces Explain U.S. Patterns.
This event will also feature breakout sessions, a panel of local and state leaders working to end homelessness, and collaborative sessions to identify policy solutions needed to address our housing crisis. Including:
Eric Hufnagel, Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness
Kristin Stevenson, Greater Flint Health Coalition
Glenn Wilson, President and CEO of Communities First, Inc.
Misty Bowers, Director of Housing Programs, Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties
