It’s going down, Flint and Saginaw! Join us this Sweetest Day weekend for a powerful community gathering that turns resistance into empowerment through one of our most sacred traditions, FOOD!
The Empowerment By Taste (E.B.T.) Bake Sale is a celebration of resilience, community, and justice, honoring Ms. Talia C. Teneyuque, a hardworking mother of five from Saginaw, Michigan, who is facing felony charges for allegedly using her EBT card to buy ingredients for her home bakery. Which she has voiced her innoncence from day one.
Talia’s story represents something much bigger than one person’s struggle, it’s a reflection of how our systems often criminalize survival and entrepreneurship in low-income communities while excusing large-scale fraud from the powerful.
Meanwhile, NFL legend Brett Favre misused over $6 million in welfare funds, including $1.1 million for speeches he never gave, to fund a volleyball stadium, yet has faced no criminal charges. But Talia faces prosecution for baking to feed her community? The hypocrisy speaks for itself.
