YOUTH WELLBEING & HEALTH FORUM
A Community Forum is to be held on Friday October 31 at 5:00 pm in the Flinders Community Hall. Free to attend.
The Forum aims to increase awareness of the need to optimise opportunities for all school aged children; education being the key to improved wellbeing.
The Lions Club of Flinders District Inc.’s fundraising strategy for 2025-26 is predicated on three major initiatives:
* October is National Mental Health month.
* Australian Lions Wellbeing Foundation’s Nationwide campaign, focused on the Lions International Service Initiative: Mental Health and Wellbeing.
* Mornington Peninsula Shire Council’s Strategic Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (2025-29).
Funds raised from this event and our two major fundraising initiatives, our 38th Charity Golf Day on March 2, 2026, and our 10th Flinders Motoring Heritage event on Easter Sunday 2026, will be directed to two very worthy school focussed projects which have been identified and fit the Youth Wellbeing and Health needs in local primary and secondary schools perfectly.
Our primary aim is to support those children and young people who are highly disengaged and marginalised through complicated family circumstances to remain at school and return to mainstream programs.
This is a free public Forum with expert speakers on this critical area of need for our youth and extended families.
