About the event

Museum Talk - Fish and Ships 40 Years On

‘40 Years Since The Final Trawl’ Back in 1982, Dick Gillingham, David Pearce and Ron Baxter wrote a stage production with music about the decline of Fleetwood’s deep sea fishing industry. It toured in the North West and eventually went down to Devon to Sidmouth International Folklore Festival. They will be talking about the background to writing the show and songs and the pictures used as background projection. They have been involved in many fishing projects - artworks, memorials and writing other shows. Photo was taken for Gazette feature pre opening show in Euston Ballroom May 1982. The talk takes place upstairs in the Museum Education Room ..doors open 13:00 Free but donations to the museum welcomed
