Synopsis: Accusations, mistaken identities, and romances run wild in this traditional, laugh-out-loud farce. Two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent's doors open, but Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancées, are hot on their trail. They go undercover as a nun and priest, but their presence, combined with the addition of a new nun, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. Wine and secrets are inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and reconnect with lost loves.

Character Gender/Age Range Description
Mother Superior (50’s – 60’s) Stern, commanding, and suspicious. Unaware of the wine-making operation. Tries to maintain order amid growing paranoia and confusion.
Father Chenille (50’s – 60’s) Earnest and well-meaning priest. Often bewildered by the chaos around him. Adds to the confusion with his own misunderstandings and assumptions.
Sister Philamena (30’s – 50’s) A quirky, slightly ditzy nun. Secretly helps make wine to support the convent. Odd but endearing. Reluctant co-conspirator with a flair for comedic timing.
Sister Augusta (30’s – 50’s) Witty, resourceful, and a bit mischievous. She’s the more grounded of the wine-making duo, often balancing Sister Philamena’s scatterbrained antics with her own dry humor and quick thinking.
Sister Mary Catherine (20’s) New to the convent, bubbly and innocent with shifty eyes. Carries a secret that fuels much of the play’s chaos. Becomes increasingly unhinged as the farce unfolds.
George (20’s) Down-to-earth and observant. Often caught in the crossfire of mistaken identities and schemes. Adds a grounded, humorous contrast to the convent’s antics.
Sally (20’s – early 30’s) Investigative reporter and former fiancée to Paul. Goes undercover as a nun to expose the wine-making. Their romantic tension and sleuthing drive much of the plot’s momentum.
Paul (20’s – early 30’s) Investigative reporter and former fiancé to Sally. Goes undercover as a priest/nun/cardinal to expose the wine-making. Their romantic tension and sleuthing drive much of the plot’s momentum.
