You are invited to engage in an Andean Despacho Ceremony, bringing balance to your mind, heart and way of living.
While despacho is the spanish word for offering, Haywarikuy is one of the Quechua words, describing an Andean ceremony of making offerings to the mountain spirits (apus), Mother Earth, and Source/Creator in reciprocity, reverence and thanksgiving. Despachos are acts of love, reminding you of the connections you share with all beings, elements, spirits and sacred places. At the deepest level, a haywarikuy is an opportunity to enter into the essential unity of all of creation.
A haywarikuy brings you into alignment with you personal intent (what might you pray for?), the group intent, and gratitude for the Earth (Mama Allpa), who supports you in all your endeavors from your first breath to your last. Despachos will also bring your three main energy centers (similar to the 7 chakra system) into alignment: physical (centered in the belly), feeling and heart (centered in the heart), and spirit or energetic wisdom (centered in the brow). Despachos also bring harmony to the community - praying together connects you.
The Haywarikuy is a gift - we are giving back what we receive everyday in our lives. Through the despacho ceremony, we bridge ordinary and non-ordinary realms, create balance and right-relationship, and establish new patterns of relationship and possibility.
As Q'ero elder Don Manuel Q'espi said, "In order to build good co-existence with nature, the only real choice we have is to enter with our heart, wisdom, and our action. We call upon the spirits of the waters, of the mountains, and of the Pachamama to come and help us prepare the offering. We have the intent to establish and maintain a continuous dialogue with the Mother and to bring balance and harmony to our lives, and to all our relations. It is through the dynamics of love, of right thinking, and of right action that our livers become bountiful."
Come with your joy, your reverence and your prayers(intent).
