About the event

FINDLAY FOR ALL - Stop the Loitering Ordinance
FINDLAY FOR ALL
Stop the Loitering Ordinance

Existing in public is not a crime. We can keep our community safe without criminalizing people for simply being visible.

Because of your voices and support, Findlay City Council sent the proposed Loitering Ordinance back to committee for review and revision. That happened because our community showed up, spoke up, and stood together.

Now, the ordinance is returning for its third reading, and this is a critical moment to make sure our voices are still heard.

Our sidewalks, parks, and downtown areas belong to everyone. Limiting who can be there or why takes away something essential about what it means to be part of Findlay and part of a free community.

We’ve made progress. Now we need to finish the job.

Here’s how you can help:

1. Attend the City Council Meeting
Tuesday, November 18 at 6:00 PM
Findlay Municipal Building, 318 Dorney Plaza
(Council Chambers, 1st Floor)
Register for this event and show up in person. Your presence matters. Showing up is how we’re seen and heard.

2. Share this event or tag someone who wants to help.
Awareness matters. Sharing this event helps ensure everyone in our community knows what’s at stake.

3. Call or email your councilperson and the mayor.
Even if you can’t attend, reach out to those who represent you. Let them know you oppose this ordinance and want Findlay to protect both safety and constitutional rights.

Contact Your Representatives
Whether you can attend or not, make your voice heard by contacting those who represent you. Tell them you oppose the proposed Loitering Ordinance and believe Findlay can uphold safety and compassion without criminalizing presence in public spaces.
